v29 v30 5 5 === Introduction === 6 6 7 Spectrum sensing is the systematic scanning of the available spectrum of radio frequencies for areas of high usage, so that frequency bands might be used more efficiently. Our project involves the use of USRPs in ORBIT to detect which frequencies are in use at any given time. Using GNURadio and MATLAB for signal processing, we aim to detect with optimal speed and efficiency the frequency of any signal transmitted from an unknown source.7 Spectrum sensing is the systematic scanning of the available radio frequency spectrum for areas of high usage. Our project involves the use of Universal Software Radio Peripherals (USRPs) in ORBIT to detect which frequencies are in use at any given time. Using GNURadio and MATLAB/Octave for signal processing, we aim to detect with optimal speed and efficiency the frequency of any signal transmitted from an unknown source. Accomplishing this goal will help to identify available bands in the frequency spectrum, giving opportunities for more efficient usage. 8 8 9 9 === Team === 10 11 {{{#!comment 10 12 11 13 * Christina Baaklini, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Rutgers University … … 15 17 * Nicole !DiLeo, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Rutgers University 16 18 19 }}} 20 21 17 22 {{{ 18 23 #!html 19 24 20 <img src="http://www.orbit-lab.org/raw-attachment/wiki/Other/Summer/2015/aSDR2/christina.jpg" width="200" height="250" display:'inline'> 25 <center> 26 <table> 27 <tr> 28 <td><center><img src="http://www.orbit-lab.org/raw-attachment/wiki/Other/Summer/2015/aSDR2/christina.jpg" width="200" height="250"></center></td> 29 <td><center><img src="http://www.orbit-lab.org/raw-attachment/wiki/Other/Summer/2015/aSDR2/collins.jpg" width="175" height="250"></center></td> 30 <td><center><img src="http://www.orbit-lab.org/raw-attachment/wiki/Other/Summer/2015/aSDR2/nicole.PNG" width="200" height="250"></center></td> 31 </tr> 32 <tr> 33 <td align='center'><b>Christina Baaklini</b><br><i> Electrical and Computer Engineering <br>Rutgers University</i></td> 34 <td align='center'><b>Michael Collins</b><br><i> Electrical and Computer Engineering <br>Rutgers University</i></td> 35 <td align='center'><b>Nicole DiLeo</b><br><i> Electrical and Computer Engineering <br>Rutgers University</i></td> 36 </tr> 37 </table> 38 </center> 39 }}} 21 40 22 41 23 <img src="http://www.orbit-lab.org/raw-attachment/wiki/Other/Summer/2015/aSDR2/collins.jpg" width="175" height="250" display:'inline'> 42 {{{#!comment 43 === Objectives === 44 }}} 45 46 ===Weekly Progress=== 24 47 25 48 26 <img src="http://www.orbit-lab.org/raw-attachment/wiki/Other/Summer/2015/aSDR2/nicole.PNG" width="200" height="250" display:'inline'>27 <p>28 29 <i>Christina Baaklini</i>30 31 <i>Michael Collins</i>32 33 <i>Nicole DiLeo</i>34 }}}35 36 === Objectives ===
