The fourth generation of ORBIT nodes are based on ​Asus Q87T motherboards. These thin Mini ITX Form Factor with LGA1150 socket motherboards are powered by a single 19V power source which makes them suitable for use in cars and for other mobile applications. The deployed nodes come in two configurations:

Candidate motherboards for Gen4.1

We are considering motherboards for a high performance compute variant of the Gen4 node, with lower emphasis on built in wifi capability, instead focusing on acting as host for SDR platforms.

    1. Supports Xeon E5-2600v3 series cpus, up to 2699v3, with 18 cores.
    2. Supports Quad Channel ddr4 memory, up to 64GB
    3. Onboard OOB management capability
    4. Can attach peripherals via USB3.0, or via PCIe 3.0 X16 slot.
  2. ​Supermicro X10SDV-TLN4F
    1. Xeon D-1540 cpu,
    2. Supports Dual Channel ddr4 memory, up to 128GB
    3. 10GBase-T LAN onboard
    4. Onboard OOB management capability
    5. Can attach peripherals via USB3.0, or via PCIE 3.0 X16 slot
    6. Supports high speed storage in M.2 PCIe x4 slot.
