Profiles

Both profiles A and C are so called centralized architectures in which BS and ASNGW communicate over R6 interface. The main characteristics of "Profile A" is that the radio resource management (RRM) control functions for one or more BSs are in the ASNGW. Inter-BS handover for both control and data planes is managed by the ASN-GW. In "Profile C" RRM control is internal to the BS. In addition, the ASNGW relays radio resource management messages sent from one BS to another BS via the R6 (i.e. inter-BS handover control plane is managed by the BS)
